It's nearly that time of year again and is it just me or have the prices of Halloween outfits gone up? Well I have created a solution, the budget zombie. It's all in the make up because you can wear whatever you want. Here's how to create this face without breaking the bank.
What you will need:
PVA glue
tissue paper
a very light foundation
Eyeliner
white lipstick/concealer
hair wax
fake blood
red lipstick
gel lip balm
brushes
Step 1.
Using an old paint brush, cover a small section of your cheek, leading from you mouth with the PVA glue and place a single layer of tissue paper over it, it's best to use a tissue paper that will be easily hidden by your foundation so i used white. Repeat this once the glue has dried, adding another layer of tissue paper.
Step 2.
Once the glue has dried, apply the light foundation, it's better if it's oil based as it gives off a wax like shine that makes the look slightly more authentic. Don't forget to cover the tissue paper in foundation as well.
Step 3.
Once the foundation has dried on the tissue paper, slit it open slightly from the corner of your mouth and peel back the edges a little, tearing them up to look like dead skin.
Step 4.
Using the red lipstick and a brush, colour the skin peelings red and the inside of the hole white with the white lipstick or concealer. Use liquid eyeliner a black eyeliner pencil to outline the inside of the hole to make it look deeper.
Step 5.
You're probably thinking this doesn't look very realistic right now but don't worry, it looks better by the end. Next, you're going to need your eyeliner again, using a brush, draw in teeth in the "wound". It doesn't matter if they look bad, i'm not exactly an artist with mine. Don't forget to use the red lipstick again to fill in the middle.
Step 6.
Now that you've got the teeth, it's time to make everything seem a little more genuine. With the gel lip balm or gloss, smear it on in lump over the skin peelings and over the red of the wound in order to give it some shine and definition.
Step 7.
After this, add your fake blood, you can use as little or as much as you like, I fill a small bottle cap with fake blood and left it over night so that it dried slightly and could be applied in lumps along with using the liquid.
Step 8.
Now for the messy part. Take around a quarter of a tea spoon and put it in a small tub then mix in some of the fake blood, making sure to mush the colour into the wax. This creates a brain like consistency.

Step 9.
Once this is done, blot a small layer of PVA onto your forehead, wherever you like and wait for it to dry, once it has, tear it open and use the red lipstick to fill it in, doing the same thing with the eyeliner to make it appear deep.
Step 10.
When you've finished this, spread the wax/blood mix into the new wound and add more fake blood but be careful it doesn't get into yours eyes.
Step 11.
In the picture above, you can probably see that I've contoured my cheek bones as well, I've tried to make them darker than my usual contouring in order to give off that "hollow" skull like look so to do this I smeared a brow pencil along the cheek bone and blended slightly.
Step 12.
To finish it off, the eyes. Using a jumbo eyeliner or eye shadow, fill in the eye and smudge as much as possible all around the eye, don't forget to go under as well to make them look shrunken in and just for an extra touch, using a red or pink lip liner, go over you water line in order to make them look just that little more sore and then you're done!
OMG! This is so cool! I totally wanna try it.
