Get Ready With Me - house party

Hello people! So last night I went to my friend's house party and I figured it would be a great opportunity to do my first get ready with me. Unfortunately, I  do not have a video camera so it'll be a picture get ready with me. Also, I was in a rush so I didn't manage to get a picture of every step but I hope you like it. Just a  heads up, this is not a tutorial, if you want a tutorial on how to create this look, let me know.

These are nearly all of the products I used and I will do my best to name them all correctly so that you know what you're looking for if you decide to purchase them but I might not be able to name some as their labels have been partially scratched off.

Like I said, these are more or less all of the products, I forgot to put my BB primer in the picture but that's not that important.

First I dried my hair, I had only just dyed it an hour before this picture was taken so there may be some dye on my forehead etc. That didn't come off in the shower. Because I dye my hair monthly, the ends are really dry so I use Lee Stafford Argonoil and to give  it a little extra volume, I spray Pantene volume booster at the end of my roots and blow dry my hair upside down.

After I dried my hair I used Rimmel 9 in 1 BB cream for very light skin as a primer on my nose, chin and T section before applying my foundation, Revlon Colourstay for combined/oily skin then used my Rimmel Stay Matte powder for maximum coverage seeing as my skin isn't as clear as normal just lately due to running out of my favourite blemish banishing face wash. I also filled in my eyebrows because I have naturally blonde hair and you can barely see the arches I've finally achieved through trial and error. My brow pencil is an Eyelure shape and shade brow tamer in dark brown. After this, I used my Miss Sporty concealer under my eyes to take the tell tale sign of a sleepless night away.

Once  I'd finished all of my coverage, I started with the blush and bronzer. I use two bronzers, one without shimmer to contour and the other with a shimmer just to make my make up seem a little more glitzy. I always use my body shop blush in a rosy pink because I like that it's not as pigmented as it seems and it's easy to blend in with my Kubiss London bronzer that I use for contouring my cheek bones and jaw line. I then brush over dusted over both the bronzer and blush with my Bronze Shimmer from W7 to make my cheeks sparkle a little.

I started on my eyes last, I don't usually apply primer for my eye shadow but I knew it was going to be a long night so I used Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden which is practically an eye shadow on it's own, giving your lids a shimmering gold appearance. It doesn't take a lot of this to keep my eye shadow on for hours which I'm grateful for because it's expensive so you really get what you paid for. Being a house party, I went for the typical smoky eye using my look book palette and colour works black, silver and white shades. After the shadow, I opted for my Maybelline gel eyeliner to go over my lash line.

Not finished yet. I don't have very long lashes naturally and even with a few coats of mascara, you could barely see them so I stuck on my Katy Perry false lashes in Cool Kitty because I'd just bought the four set of her lash set and oh my gosh I am in love with them. They're not the first pair I had, I've worn Cool Kitty's before but I had totally forgot how good they were.

The last thing I did was my hair. Unfortunately, this was the point where my dad started to complain about me taking too long... Admittedly I was an hour late but I take my make up very seriously so I didn't have time to style my hair as much as I would have liked. Instead, I straightened it, changed my clothes then clipped my extensions in so I was good to go!

At half one, after the party, I managed to snap a picture of how my make up was several hours after completion and in all honesty, it lasted well most of the night, even through me rubbing at my eyes because I was so tired. Albeit my extensions weren't very well blended by this time but that wasn't much of an issue, all in all, I considered it a successful night.

If you want more "Get Ready With Me's" please like this or comment and hopefully, I'll get my hands on a video camera soon!

  1. I wish I'd been that good in applying make up in my youth, at that time I only used mascara, eyeliner and lipstick and only when going out at night. I'm still learning to do my make up as I only started applying it on a daily basis like 4 years ago but I'm loving it. I wish I'd started sooner but I had nobody to teach me how. Thank God for YouTube! Thanks for tweeting me, I'll make sure to follow your blog. If you want to give mine a read here's my link: http://marshmellowbyeva.blogspot.com.es/
